Khris and I drove from Dubai to Khor Fakkan in the emirate of Sharjah, from the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman. We got to Khor Fakkan right before 8 PM, but as you can see, it was HOT & HUMID. Al Muraqqabat, Deira Kabayan Night Market sits along 37th Street in Al Muraqqabat, a familiar stretch in Deira where many Filipinos gather after work. February 8, 2022. Tintin and J.F. That evening, TinTin and I found a small table beneath the lights and ordered dinner. Around us were the usual sounds — utensils against plates, Tagalog conversations, and the tired laughter that follows long shifts. For many OFWs, places like this are more than just night markets.
