Crazy Rich Asians Official Soundtrack | Money (That’s What I Want) - Cheryl K

Money, Money, Money

I work all night, I work all day to pay the bills I have to pay
Ain't it sad?
And still there never seems to be a single penny left for me
That's too bad
In my dreams I have a plan

So wrote ABBA in their 1976 song "Money, Money, Money." The song was used in the film "CRAZY RICH ASIANS" in 2018.

I Have A Plan

This website is my plan.

Actually, this was my plan before Facebook came into existence in February 2004. Having seen the business potential and experienced the boom of AmIHotOrNot.com and Friendster, I wanted to build a website with my own Pinoy flavor.

I met with cousin Melvin and his cousin Ress in January 2003 to bring up a site that would connect Filipino-American college students in California. The mission was to be the top Fil-Am site in California. With the hits and advertising revenue from just California, that should be rather lucrative. But we wanted to be tops in the USA of course.

But I was a father of two small kids climbing up the IT ladder for the Northern California utility. My Chief Technical Officer, Melvin, was busy as a Computer Engineering & Science major in UC Davis.  My Chief Marketing Officer, Ress, was busy doing 'Ress.' We were supposed to choose a UNIX flavor, test software options, and host the server in my house. But life happened.

I joined Facebook in September 2007, and I thought it was the best thing since halo-halo! It was similar to what I had envisioned. As did Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss. The Winklevoss twins of course had hired Mark Zuckerberg to develop their site. Zuckerberg had the technical genius to create what became Facebook. The Winklevoss twins would sue Zuckerberg/Facebook and win $65 MILLION for 'stealing' their idea and source code.

It's All About Advertising

Here are a couple of statistics:
In 2021, Facebook generated nearly 115 billion U.S. dollars in advertising revenue. This figure is expected to further grow to reach 203 billion U.S. dollars by 2026.
In 2021, Google's ad revenue amounted to 209.49 billion U.S. dollars. The company generates advertising revenue through its Google Ads platform, which enables advertisers to display ads, product listings and service offerings across Google's extensive ad network (properties, partner sites, and apps) to web users.
The cool thing about Google is it has shared the wealth with its Google Adsense users. Pinoybuilt.com uses Google Ads to generate revenue.

Above is my Google Adsense summary from January 7, 2023. I made $0.15. 15 cents!

That was likely generated by a click from one of my Twitter followers. I've got an automatic process that tweets each post on pinoybuilt.com to my personal Twitter account @jfperseveranda, which has close to 14K followers.

If I could make 15 cents per day for the year, that's .15 x 365 or $54.75. Not bad.

But what if pinoybuilt.com had more bloggers and visitors (like Facebook)? Let's say 100 visitors per day. That could be 100 x $54.75 or $5475! Or more if they use the site as much as they do Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok. I could afford to give everyone a free Pinoybuilt T-shirt or sweatshirt even.

What if this website had sub-sites to cater to each Filipino-rich region like Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco Bay Area... Chicago, New York,... Dubai, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, etc? If pinoybuilt.com had 100 sub-sites, with 10,000 users generating 15 cents a day for 365 days, that's $547,500! More than half a million dollars per year!

It's just a matter of my friends joining me here. And the friends of my friends joining them here, and so on, and so on.

Let's get Crazy Rich, Asian!

It's totally possible!

We need an application you say like Facebook has an application for iPhone and Android users?

My app of choice is EMAIL! Everyone has a built-in mail app on their cellphone, whether iPhone or Android.

The only requirement I need from new users is that they have a GMAIL account. Once registered on pinoybuilt.com, a user can create a secret email alias. Quickly sending a photo or multiple photos to that secret email alias with a four- or five-word subject creates a post on the site. Done.

I do need photos posted on the site to be no more than 2048 pixels. So the max size photo would be 2048 x 2048.

My Sony Alpha DSLR takes pix at 6000 x 4000. So I batch process them with Photoscape to downsize the photos.

For you folks who can't get away from posting on Facebook, Fb automatically downsizes a photo to 2048 pixels at it's longest width. Cha-ching. So if you download it (on your computer or phone), it's the right size to send to pinoybuilt.com.

If you're sending from your phone, you'll be prompted upon sending which size of photos to send. Just choose medium or large.

If you're more of an essay writer, even better. You're an activist who supports #StopAsianHate or #StopAAPIHate? You and me both!

You're a business owner who wants to promote your business. Come join me and I'll show you how. Check out my user profile below. That's what you can do too.

It's a Brave New World

I've renovated www.pinoybuilt.com and la.pinoybuilt.com. I brought up new sub-sites like AU (Australia), AE (United Arab Emirates) and UK (United Kingdom). I use the two-letter country code top-level domain to name the corresponding site on Pinoybuilt.

I just need bloggers and content creators. You! You know you're blogging when you post on Facebook or Instagram right?

Blog comes from web log, or weblog. To log is to make note of a change, much like I used to do on adminlog.txt on a Windows server when I was a network administrator.

So to weblog, or blog, is to make a change on the web. Facebook. Instagram. Twitter.

But do those firms pay you? Pinoybuilt will give you a free T-shirt or sweatshirt if one of your posts gets 1000 hits!

I am working with someone on the logo. Pinoybuilt originally came into existence with the intent of selling "FILIPINO STRENGTH" apparel. If you know someone who is a graphic designer, please send them my way.

But more importantly, visit Pinoybuilt.com -- and often. Let's get crazy rich. I'll share the wealth!

You don't have to be a creator to contribute. Just regularly visit pinoybuilt.com.

Viewing impressions of the 'google ads' help. If you click an ad or two if it pertains to you, then that's what really generates the revenue. But please do not go crazy and click on ads haphazardly. My account will get suspended and terminated.
